Kathy Morganelli
Kathryn Morganelli received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of South Carolina where she also completed postgraduate studies in Textile Design and Animation. She followed in her field with thirty years as a commercial graphic artist and consultant garnering numerous business and professional awards some of which are; A National “CASE” Award for a recruiting publication done while on staff with the University of South Carolina Publications Department, An “ADDY” Award while on the art department staff for R.L. Bryan Printing Company, graphic awards of excellence from Mead Paper Company, Gilbert Paper Company and Neenah Paper Company and was named Consultant of the year for Virginia Paper Company (now Zellerbach Paper Company).
In the area of Fine Arts she has studied with watercolorists George Shook, Tony Van Hasslet, Robert Mills, and Tony Couch. She is currently a member of the DeBary Art League, and the National Women in the Arts Central East Coast Region for the State of Florida and National Women in the Arts Washington, D.C. She is a former member of the South Carolina Watercolor Society , The Columbia Artists Guild, the Dutch Fork Arts Association and the League of Roanoke Artists of Roanoke Virginia. Some of her Fine Arts Exhibits include The First South Carolina Watercolor Society juried Traveling Exhibit, Exhibitors Gallery South East First Annual Juried Show Charleston, S.C., the Pittsburgh Aqueous Open Juried Show, Pittsburgh, PA. The Valley Exhibit – League of Roanoke Artists and most recently the National Women in the Arts juried exhibit in conjunction with The Orlando Museum of Arts – “First Thursday “ program.
In 1999 she volunteered her work for the fundraising efforts of Memorial Health Systems “Hospice” Gala, which grossed $190,000.00 towards Hospice Care. One of her paintings was auctioned and another given along with a poem to the largest contributors. In 2002 she donated a painting to the National Museum of the Women in the Arts Gala in Tallahassee Fund Raising Auction which netted $1,000.00 towards future exhibition expenses of this worthwhile organization founded on the premise of support for Women Artists.
